My path to Montessori education first started with music. I was a piano teacher for many years in Wichita, KS. Although I was born in Norwalk, CA, my family moved back ‘home’ to Wichita, KS when I was still a baby. I was raised in Wichita, KS and lived there for more than 30 years. During this time I completed my degrees, operated a commercial Kindermusik studio & also taught private piano lessons. When I moved out to San Diego in 2006, I met the Sisters (founders: Maureen Keegan & Rachel Daniels) at ETCM and fell in love with the Montessori philosophy. I had previously been introduced to Montessori philosophy through my Kindermusik career, but ultimately decided it was my passion when I met the Sisters. I have a loving, supportive husband and a 5-year old daughter. I truly believe that Montessori is more than just a way to educate children – it provides the firm foundation for independent thinkers, peace-makers and has an enormous potential to positively change our world, one child at a time.
